FAQ's

**Check back often!**

**Information may be added or changed!**

Q-Is your store open yet?

A-No, as of 5/2026 I'm still looking for a location! Once I have a location I assume I will allow several weeks to set up the shop and take appointments for initial consignment intake. See my Facebook page for the most up to date information.

Q- Is this shop only for homeschoolers?

A- No! While we will feature Used Homeschool Curriculum and Educational Materials, we also plan to carry books for kids and young readers (Picture Books, Juvenile Fiction and Non-fiction, Beginner readers and beginner Chapter books). We are also looking forward to offering Used Christian books (Christian Fiction for all ages, Christian Living, Bible Studies, Bible Reference Books, etc). **We do NOT plan to offer fiction or non-fiction titles for Adults or Young Adults unless they are Christian themed or can be used to Homeschool Curriculum. **

EVENTUALLY we also hope to offer other items such as Family Board Games, Legos, Crafts made by local homeschooling families, Christian Themed Clothing, etc.

Q-Can we shop online?

A-While I won't have an online store, I will frequently highlight inventory on social media! If you see something you like—or are looking for a specific item—just call, text, email, or message us on Facebook. We are happy to ship items to you using the most affordable USPS rates. I check messages throughout the day and will get back to you as quickly as possible!

Q-Will the shop be open on the weekends?

A- Summer Hours: Open 2–3 Saturdays a month.

School Year Hours: Open at least 1 Saturday a month.

Sundays: Closed.
Because our schedule occasionally shifts to accommodate family, we update our Website and Social Media as soon as we know of a closure.
Heads up if you are traveling from out of town—feel free to Call Us before you head out to confirm we are on-site! We appreciate your understanding.

Q-Will I get updates about my consignor account?

A-YES! When we set up your account, you will be given access to our store's online portal. You can check on items processed, sold, balance etc. You will also receive emails updating you about the status of your account.  You can sign in to your account at https://wonder-and-wisdom.consigncloud.com/

Q-What materials will be accepted?

A-🎒 What We Accept Now (Pre-Opening)
We are currently taking Preschool–12th Grade homeschool curriculum and required reading, including:
  • Textbooks
  • Blank workbooks
  • Teacher manuals
  • Required curriculum literature (classics, non-fiction, etc.)
🚀 What We Hope to Accept Later (Post-Opening)

⚠️ Please note: We do not accept YA or general fiction books unless they are specifically required by a homeschool curriculum.
We will update our social media and email lists as soon as we are ready to take these additional items!
Q-Is there anything that won't be accepted?

A-🚫 Items We Cannot Accept

To keep our shelves both family-friendly and high-quality, we cannot accept items with:

Damage: Torn covers, broken spines, or missing pages.

Wear: Excessive writing, highlighting, stains, or odors.

Used Workbooks: All workbooks must be 100% blank with no ink or pencil marks.

    Copies: No photocopied materials.

Ineligible:  Imagination Library Books are not supposed to be resold. Any that are dropped off will be   donated.

⚠️ As a Christian, family-friendly business, we reserve the right to decline any items that do not align with our faith values.

Q-How many items can I bring in at a time?

A- BEFORE THE STORE OFFICIALLY OPENS-there will be no limit in the curriculum and related literature you can bring in.

AFTER THE STORE OPENS-I may have to set a limit of 20-30 items per appointment depending on how quickly I am processing drop offs while I balance my duties as a new store owner.

Q-Can I just stop by to drop of items?

A-📅 Drop-Off & Appointment Policy

Pre-Opening: Appointments are strictly required. Click here to book your slot. More slots will open soon!

Post-Opening: Appointments are still highly recommended. From October to April, you may call ahead for walk-ins, but we may ask you to book a slot if the store is busy.

📦 Quick Prep Guide

Help us process your items faster with these steps:

Pack right: Use small or medium stackable cardboard boxes that close completely.

Label boxes: Write your full name clearly on the outside of each box.                             (Need boxes? Ask us!)

Consignor ID: Registered consignors must write their consignor number in the top-inside corner of the front cover of all books for drop off. This is to reduce the risk of items being mislabeled.

Q-What if I move or my contact information changes?

A-It is the CONSIGNOR'S responsibility to contact the store to update your contact information. Please plan to do this IN PERSON or IN WRITING via email. Once your information has been updated you will receive an emailed confirmation of the update.

Q-How much will I make as a consignor?

A-The consignor will receive 50% of the sales price of their items, minus any sales taxes, discounts and fees.

Q-Who sets the prices? The consignor or the store?

A- 🏷️ How We Price Curriculum:

We set prices based on edition, condition, popularity, and completeness.

Condition & Edition: Newest editions in excellent shape fetch higher prices.

Market Demand: Popular curriculum and publishers command better rates.

💰 Our Curriculum Pricing Guidelines:

Current Editions that are Like New/Very Good: Typically priced around 50-60% of current online retail prices. We base our prices on Rainbow Resource or Christian Book Distributors websites and catalog and occasionally on Amazon if the books can't be found elsewhere.

Older Editions or current editions that would be considered Good/Acceptable: Priced lower based on condition and how usable it is.

For Non-Curriculum Books: Paperback and Hardback books (classics, non-fiction, Bible Studies, etc) typically priced 25-50% of current online retail price, depending on demand and type.

**We do NOT base our prices solely on what is printed on the back of the book**

Pricing Used Books and Curriculum can be tricky, while Consignors want the price to trend higher, customers want the prices to trend lower. It's hard to fulfill that wish for EVERYONE, and since NOTHING will sell if it is priced too high, we will try to follow what the customer market dictates!

Q-How will I get paid?

A-💸 Payout Options & Rules

Local Consignors (Overton & Surrounding Counties): You must collect payouts in-store with a valid ID. Only the person listed on the agreement can receive funds.

Payment Methods: In-person payouts are available via cash, check, or Venmo whenever the owner is on-site.

Store Credit: Use your account balance anytime during store hours to make purchases.

Out-of-Area Consignors: Contact us to request a mailed check. A $2.00 processing fee applies. Remote Venmo or electronic payments are not available.

Q-How long is the consignment period? What happens to my books once the consignment period is over?

A-Consignment Period & Unsold Items

Duration: Your items remain on shelves for 18 months after processing.

Notification: We will email you when your items hit the floor. This email will also note the end of your consignment period.

Your Choice: Upon account creation, you must select one option for unsold items:

Return: You must pick up unsold items within 7 business days of the expiration date, or they become store property.

Donate: We will donate items directly to charity or re-list them under a charity account.

Q-What if I just want to donate my books? Who will get the money?

A-We plan to have some Charity accounts set up and you can choose which ministry/non-for-profit you would like your payments to go. Some examples might be Food to the Rescue, Peachtree Learning Center, Rising Above Ministries, Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic, etc.

Q-Do you accept college textbooks?

A-at this point NO, but I am open to exploring that in the future, probably only for Gen Ed. requirements that High School students might take as Dual Enrollment credit.

Q-What is your return and refund policy?

A- 🛍️ Return Policy

All Sales Final: No cash or credit card refunds.

Homeschool Curriculum: Returnable for store credit within 7 business days. Must include the receipt and be in original condition. If the return period has passed you are welcome to re-consign under your own account.

Non-Curriculum Items: Non-returnable, but you may re-consign them under your own account. If the original store tag is attached, we might be able to list it for the same price.

Q-I'm just exploring the idea of homeschooling. Any suggestions about how to get started?

A-I highly recommend checking out the HSLDA website and looking under the section for your state to know how to legally homeschool in your area.

If you are interested in using an umbrella school, check out Daniel 1 Academy or Exodus Christian Academy (both are local in the Upper Cumberland area!) to give you guidance about next steps!

If you are looking for curriculum suggestions, look for Cathy Duffy's homeschool reviews website! Then come buy the books from Wonder & Wisdom!
